Jorge Posada, who released a book on Tuesday, revealed just how upset he was with the New York Yankees at the end of his career.

The Yankees moved Posada from catcher to designated hitter during his final season in 2011.

"I'll put this as plainly as a I can," Posada writes in The Journey Home: My Life In Pinstripes. "When you take me out from behind the plate, you're taking away my heart and my passion."

"I knew that my role with the club was changing, but I don't think that anyone making those decisions knew how much the things being done hurt me."

Posada caught 1,574 games for the Yankees and was part of four World Series victories from 1996 to 2000. He doesn't feel the club was honest with him at the end of his career.

"I felt like I wasn't being treated right, that people weren't being as straightforward with me as I wanted them to be or treating me as I deserved to be treated and I exploded," Posada said regarding a 2011 game in Boston when he refused to play after manager Joe Girardi slotted him ninth in the batting order. "I had just put up with enough."
