Jose Abreu came to the defense of his manager on Sunday as the Chicago White Sox continue to struggle.

Robin Ventura has taken the brunt of the criticism. The White Sox are 8-14 and occupy last place in the American League Central.

"If the people want someone to blame, it's the players, not Robin," Abreu said.

Abreu, who was the AL Rookie of the Year and finished fourth in the MVP voting last season, is hitting .267/.323/.523 with five home runs and 15 RBI.
