Jon Lester threw to first base on Monday night for the first time since April 30, 2013.

The left-hander is relatively quick to the plate, which has limited base stealers the past two seasons. He has allowed just 28 stolen bases in 37 attempts over that span. However, the St. Louis Cardinals stole three bags in his first start with the Chicago Cubs on April 5.

Lester's throw to first on Monday night was errant, suggesting teams may test him more often and that he had a reason not to throw anywhere but home plate over the last two years.
