The Toronto Blue Jays have removed Brett Cecil as their closer just two games into the season.

The move comes after Cecil blew a save against the New York Yankees on Wednesday night, retiring just one of the four batters he faced.

"I talked to Cec today, told him, because he's down a little bit, he's not sharp," John Gibbons said. "So I told him that he could come in, in the seventh, eighth inning. If it ends up stacking up where he's the guy in the ninth, then so be it, but try to get him a little sharper."
