The Oakland Athletics will sign Cody Ross once he clears release waivers on Wednesday.

The club will be responsible for the pro-rated portion of the league minimum for his salary, while the Arizona Diamondbacks, who released him, will be on the hook for the remainder of his $8.5 million salary and $1 million option buyout.

Oakland was searching for a veteran outfielder in the wake of Coco Crisp's elbow surgery.
