Masahiro Tanaka made his final start of the spring on Tuesday and came away happy with his health.

Tanaka pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits against the Minnesota Twins. He threw 56 of his 76 pitches for strikes.

"Obviously, it wasn't the best pitching today out there on the mound, but I felt that I was able to work on what I wanted to work on this spring," Tanaka said through an interpreter. "I feel pretty much ready to go for the season."

The New York Yankees right-hander pitched towards the end of last season with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Most lingering concerns were eased by the fact that Tanaka never reported any stiffness and seemed to be able to throw close to 100 percent effort.

"I feel good that I was able to come through camp healthy right now," Tanaka said. "I think I'm a bit relieved."
