Joey Votto is healthy and confident entering the 2015 season.
He missed 99 games for the Cincinnati Reds last season with a pulled muscle near his left knee. The injury was so debilitating that it got into his head and sapped him of his confidence.
"I didn't lose a lot of confidence with my skills," Votto said. "I did, however, have a great deal of concern that I wasn't going to be able to tap into my skills because of the injury. It does a number on you."
After a productive offseason, the 31-year-old is ready to rebound this year.
"I feel like I can perform like myself," Votto said. "I have very high expectations."
