The Chicago White Sox and Jeff Samardzija aren't currently discussing a new contract.

The White Sox acquired Jeff Samardzija from the Oakland Athletics via trade and the belief at the time was that Chicago would attempt to lock him up over the long-term.

"That hasn't even been a topic of conversation," Samardzija said. "We haven't come close to crossing that bridge. We're all working on getting the team where we want. That's our main goal."
