The Pawtucket Red Sox have agreed to be sold to a group of investors headlined by Boston Red Sox president and chief executive officer Larry Lucchino.

The group also includes several Rhode Island-based businessmen.

The deal is expected to be announced on Monday. It will not include McCoy Stadium, the team's 73-year-old home that is owned by the City of Pawtucket and the state of Rhode Island.

The PawSox have been owned by Ben Mondor and his family since 1977. Mondor died in 2010; his widow, Madeleine, remains the franchise's majority shareholder.
