The Cincinnati Reds have signed Devin Mesoraco to a four-year extension worth $28 million, according to a source.

The deal, which avoids arbitration, includes incentives and covers his final three arbitration-eligible seasons and one season of free agency.

"This is another example of rewarding a player we drafted and developed," Walt Jocketty said. "We are pleased to be able to sign him for the next four years and expect him to be an integral part of the team."
