Pablo Sandoval told MLB Network Radio on Tuesday that he didn't give the San Francisco Giants a chance to make a final offer before he left for the Boston Red Sox.

Sandoval signed a five-year, $95 million contract with the Red Sox that includes a $17 million club option. The third baseman said he wouldn't have returned to San Francisco for a larger offer.

"No. I left more money out there. I didn't let the Giants make the final offer," Sandoval said. "I just wanted to get out and try new things, try a new challenge. I just want to be a part of a new challenge."
