The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to a record-setting $8.27 million bonus with Cuban right-handed pitching prospect Yoan Lopez, according to sources.

The club hasn't confirmed the deal and it is pending a physical.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds were among the teams to express interest in signing the 6-foot-4, 190-pound pitcher.

The 21-year-old reportedly turned down a $9 million offer from another club because he felt Arizona was the best fit.

Lopez throws a cut fastball, a changeup, a curveball and a slider, but he is best known for a fastball that travels in the 93-95 mph range.
