Kevin Youkilis has decided to retire from baseball, according to his agent.

Youkilis played parts of nine seasons with the Boston Red Sox and was a part of World Series teams in 2004 and 2007.

He also spent time with the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees before finishing his career in Japan.

Youkilis had a .281 batting average with 150 homers and 618 RBIs in his Major League career. He also walked 539 times, earning him the nickname "Euclis, the Greek God of Walks," in the book "Moneyball."
