Nick Markakis could be a perfect target for the New York Mets this winter.

The Mets want a corner outfielder and need someone that can hit leadoff. Markakis had a .342 on-base percentage this season with the Baltimore Orioles. That figure is at .358 for his career.

He has also played 147 or more games in eight of his nine seasons.

The Orioles plan to reject Markakis' $17.5 million mutual option for 2015, pay him a $2 million buyout and then probably put the $15.3 million qualifying offer on him.
