The Colorado Rockies have shut down top prospect Jon Gray with shoulder fatigue.

Gray was the No. 3 pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

He will not be called up by the Rockies to make his Major League debut this season.

"I do have some shoulder fatigue, but I knew it wouldn't feel as strong now as it did back in spring training," Gray said. "I knew it would kind of wear down a little. But after having a few days off, it feels really good again. I'm still throwing some bullpens."

Gray confirmed that he underwent an MRI when the fatigue started to set in, but the test results showed no damage to his shoulder.
