Jonathan Broxton was surprised to hear that the Cincinnati Reds had traded him to the Milwaukee Brewers.

"I didn't see it coming at all, especially with an extra year (remaining on his contract) in there," the reliever said.

"I went out and packed up, and came on."

It's also a bit odd for two teams in the same division to swing a deal so close to the playoffs. The Brewers are in a race with the Cardinals for the National League Central title.

"Having a chance to go to the postseason should be a lot of fun," Broxton said. "It's just the business. I'm going to go out there and be a professional and try to get guys out any way I can."
