The Texas Rangers have signed Carlos Pena to a Minor League contract.

The first baseman will be active at Triple-A Round Rock either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Injuries to Prince Fielder and Mitch Moreland have forced the Rangers to look into solutions at first base.
