The Tampa Bay Rays will no longer use Grant Balfour as their closer exclusively.

"We're going to go by committee right now," Joe Maddon said.

Balfour, who has a 6.46 ERA this season, gave up five runs on Sunday afternoon.

Maddon met with Balfour on Monday morning in a closed-door meeting and said Balfour took the news well.
