The Philadelphia Phillies could soon promote top prospect Maikel Franco to play third base.

Cody Asche was placed on the disabled list on Sunday with a left hamstring strain.

"It's a possibility," Ruben Amaro said. "We'll see whether it's the right thing for us and right thing for him ... We'll kick it around."

Franco, 21, is hitting .235 with a .677 OPS with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
