The Chicago White Sox are confident Jose Abreu will be ready to return once he is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list.

Abreu has been sidelined with ankle tendinitis.

"He's here today, receiving treatment," Rick Hahn said. "He remains in the boot and will stay in the boot through the weekend. We'll re-evaluate next week. So far he's progressing, and we'll continue to be optimistic about him being ready about the time the 15 days are up."

Abreu leads baseball with 15 home runs despite the fact that he hasn't played since Saturday.
