David Ortiz hit a dramatic game-tying grand slam in the eighth inning of Game 2 against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night, setting the stage for a walk-off win in the ninth.

Ortiz is the first to hit a game-tying grand slam in the playoffs since Vladimir Guerrero did so in 2004. Ron Cey was the first to accomplish the feat, hitting one for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1977.

"That's what he does. He's an amazing hitter," Max Scherzer said of Ortiz. "He's an amazing postseason hitter. He's clutch. Any given moment, a swing of the bat he can always take you deep."
