Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz has extended his career-long hitting streak to 25 games, dating back to last season.

Ortiz has also reached base in 33 straight games, another career high.

"I've been a hitter my whole life," he said. "It's not like I'm doing anything new. Same routine -- I haven't changed anything."

Ortiz is hitting .440/.473/.840 with four home runs and 17 RBI in just 13 games. He started the season on the disabled list.
