Derek Jeter was shut down with ankle soreness earlier this week, but isn't worried about missing games with the Yankees as Opening Day approaches.

"It's healed. We're not talking about my ankle right now, we're talking about normal soreness that comes after you have surgery so I'm not concerned at all about my ankle.

"Every ligament is perfect. The ankle is perfect. It's normal soreness that's supposed to happen. If I would have known it was going to happen, I would have told you. This is the first time I've broken anything, but everything that's happening is exactly what's supposed to happen."

Jeter had offseason surgery after breaking his ankle in the ALCS against the Tigers.
