The Brewers could remake their starting rotation behind Yovani Gallardo for next season.

Ron Roenicke discussed candidates for the remaining spots and hinted that the team has no plans to make another run at signing Zack Greinke to a long-term contract.

"Who's out there is important," Roenicke said of adding a veteran. "I don't think we're going to sign a guy for five years and $120 million. But if there is a veteran out there that Doug [Melvin] and his crew likes and that we've heard and seen good things about, I'm sure he's going to look at everything."

Greinke turned down an extension worth more than $100 million before the Brewers traded him to the Angels earlier this season.

"We made him a great offer," said Roenicke."We'll see how much he likes it in Anaheim."
