The Yankees are shutting down Manny Banuelos, their top pitching prospect, for the remainder of 2012. "He's not going to be back this season," New York vice president of baseball operations Mark Newman said. The left-hander has been out of action since the middle of May with what Newman described as a bone bruise in his left elbow. The Yankees are hoping that that he can play in Winter Ball and then be ready for spring training next year. They don't expect Banuelos to require surgery.
