Manny Ramirez will be eligible to play for the Athletics on May 30, the same day in which he will turn 40 years old. "I will be ready," he said. "I'm going to go crazy to please the fans." Ramirez has been at extended spring training in Phoenix since the A's left for Japan in March. The slugger is serving out a 50-game suspension for violating baseball's performance-enhancing drug policy. He is batting .250 with nine walks, nine strikeouts and a double, but he emphasized that he is working on things. "I am hitting with two strikes every time," he said. "I don't care if I strike out because I want to see as many pitches as I can. I don't care about the results, not here. This is the time for me to work - and then I go to Oakland. "And I feel good, I feel great, my body feels great."
