Andy Pettitte believes he is ready to pitch for the Yankees, but the team isn't ready to bring him to their starting rotation. "I feel I'm strong enough and ready to make my next start with [the Yankees]," Pettitte told MLB.com after he allowed six runs (five earned) in 5 2/3 innings of an extended spring training game on Monday. "I felt the quality of pitches were as good as I've had in any of my starts up to now, and I was able to hold my velocity throughout [the outing]. I feel like I'm ready to help the team." New York general manager Brian Cashman doesn't agree with the left-hander. "He'll pitch again in five days," Cashman said. "At least one more [start] in the minors."
