There is a chance that the Athletics will look to sign Brandon Inge, who was released by the Tigers this week. Inge can't sign with a team until he clears release waivers and that won't likely happen until after the weekend. The Orioles and Twins have also been linked to Inge, but the A's need help at third base as much as anybody.
