Nationals prospect Anthony Rendon suffered a partial fracture of his left ankle while running the bases on April 7 during a Class-a Potomac game. Rendon, 21, is immobilized and was scheduled to see a foot and ankle specialist on Friday. The sixth overall pick in last year's draft, he is the Nationals' top prospect behind Bryce Harper. "They tell me his season's not in jeopardy," Mike Rizzo said. "Actually this slight fracture probably heals quicker and cleaner than a bad sprain."
