Bobby Abreu has twice complained to Spanish-language outlets about his role with the Angels this offseason, but he remains with the team. That isn't for lack of trying on the part of Los Angeles. They have engaged in serious trade talks with the Yankees and Indians only to see the slugger's $9 million salary block a deal. Despite his public insistence that he is still an everyday player, a teammate claims that "Abreu has seemed better lately, more at peace with a role that could mean fewer than 500-and-some plate appearances for the first time since he was 23 years old."
