The Indians have restructured the contract of starter Roberto Hernandez, formerly known as Fausto Carmona. The pitcher was to earn $7 million this season after Cleveland picked up his club option over the winter. He is currently on Major League Baseball's restricted list and is in his native Dominican Republic working toward resolving legal and visa issues so that he can regain entry to the United States. The Indians will pay Hernandez "far less" than the $7 million he was due to earn this year. Cleveland reportedly has also eliminated one its options on Hernandez's deal, which originally included a $9 million club option for 2013 and a $12 million club option for 2014.
