Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada have been the best of friends ever since they came up with the Yankees in the mid-1990s. Posada retired this offseason after the final year of his contract with New York. He hit well in the second half, but the season was marred by a few blowups between the former catcher and the only organization he has played for. Asked if he thought Posada had been treated respectfully at the apparent end of his career, Jeter said: "I think Jorge was a big part of the organization for a long, long time. I'm happy I had the chance to play with him. I think Yankee fans are happy they had a chance to watch him, but you have to ask him about what went on behind the scenes [with the Yankees]."
