Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval underwent Lasik corrective surgery on his left eye in San Francisco on Friday. He hopes the surgery will correct a long-term vision problem. "It was a very simple Lasik operation in the left eye, just 30 minutes," Sandoval told Beisbol por Gotas. "I have had eye problems since 2010, so I decided to have surgery today in San Francisco. I'm fine." Sandoval had attempted to correct the vision in his left eye with contact lenses and goggles, but those hampered him on the field. His vision issues might have contributed to his struggles hitting right-handed, as the left eye is the first to pick up a pitch.
