Representatives for the Marlins were scheduled to travel to the Dominican Republic on Thursday to watch a private workout by Cuban outfielder Yoennis Cespedes. Florida manager Ozzie Guillen and owner Jeffrey Loria were part of the large contingent. Cespedes, who is represented by Adam Katz, is expected to become a free agent later this month. He wowed scouts during his showcase in Santiago last week and has sparked the interest of representatives from a number of clubs, including the Rangers, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Nationals, A's, Indians, Giants, Phillies, Pirates and Yankees.
