Yankees general manager Brian Cashman believes that Albert Pujols is the best position player available this winter, but says his team is focused on pitching. "And if you ask me who the best position player is, I'd say (Albert) Pujols," Cashman said. "Does that mean we're going to sign those guys? No. "We need pitching, so we'll talk to the all the players we feel will help. C.J. [Wilson] would help anyone. He's a quality starting pitcher. But there are a lot of names out there. Just because I identify who is at the top of the marketplace doesn't mean anything. "Unlike last year, where Cliff Lee was the priority, this isn't like that at all." Cashman declared that Wilson, a left-hander for the Rangers, was the top available pitcher in an appearance Friday on the "Dan Patrick Show," noting that Wilson was No. 1 since the Yankees already locked up CC Sabathia. Patrick also asked Cashman about Pujols. "In our circumstances, our roster, he doesn't fit," Cashman said. "It's not an efficient way to try to allocate your resources."
