Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols immediately put himself among the greatest World Series performers in the history of the game on Saturday night. Pujols slugged three home runs in Game 3 against the Rangers, helping to give St. Louis a 2-1 series lead. He joined Reggie Jackson and Babe Ruth as the only players to ever hit three home runs in a single World Series game. "Those guys are great players," Pujols said, "and to do it at that level and on this stage is amazing. But ... at the same time, I didn't walk into the ballpark today thinking that I was going to have a night like this. I walked to the ballpark with the attitude that I have every day -- to help this ballclub to win, and I was able to do that, defensively and offensively." Pujols also now has 18 playoff home runs in his career. He trails only Manny Ramirez (29), Bernie Williams (22) and Derek Jeter (20).
