Twins reliever Joe Nathan declined an opportunity to accept a trade prior to Wednesday's waiver trade deadline, according to a report. Minnesota approached Nathan a little more than 24 hours prior to the deadline to see if he wanted to be dealt to a contender as Jim Thome was last week. The reason he needed to be asked then was because any player with 10-and-5 rights has to sign a consent form 24 hours before a trade can take place. "The tough part was the timing," Nathan said. "They came to me with 30 minutes left until the deadline."
