The Twins have recalled catcher Rene Rivera from Triple-A Rochester for an extra backup. Joe Mauer is recovering from a stiff neck. Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire said Mauer was feeling better and won't be placed on the disabled list, but this is his fifth straight game missed.
