It appears to be almost certain that shortstop Jose Reyes will remain with the Mets through the summer. Reyes, who will be a free agent this winter, has played well and rumors of New York dealing him prior to the July 31 non-wavier deadline have quieted. Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated writes that Reyes could have a surprise suitor this coming offseason if he does indeed hit the free agent market. "One interesting scenario would be for the Phillies to go after Reyes this winter. If the Phillies have a weakness, it's their inconsistent offense. And they have Raul Ibanez, Brad Lidge and potentially incumbent shortstop Jimmy Rollins coming off the books," Heyman writes.
