The Giants have signed first-round pick Joe Panik, a shortstop out of St. John's. San Francisco is just the second team to ink their first-round pick. Panik agreed to a $1.116 million bonus with the Giants on Saturday, a day after Padres second baseman Cory Spangenberg turned pro. His bonus matches MLB's recommendation for the slot in which he was drafted, No. 29 overall.
