Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has acknowledged that there could be pressure for him to record his 3,000th hit at Yankee Stadium this month. Jeter is averaging 1.11 hits per game this season, which puts him on pace to record his 3,000th hit on June 18 against the Cubs in Chicago. "That'll probably be the only pressure thing, to try to do it at home," Jeter said. "I know we go to Anaheim next. Then we go home. When you get closer, maybe, but we're still a long ways away." Jeter is expected to become the first player in Yankee history to reach the milestone in pinstripes. He has 2,984 hits, leaving him 16 shy of the mark. Even though many are trying to project when he may hit 3,000, Jeter isn't thinking that far ahead. "To be honest with you, I don't really know what could be coming up," Jeter said. "You try to have good at-bats and get hits. I don't think that changes. I haven't really thought about the pressure of it. I'm sure if you get close and go a game or two, everyone will say the pressure is getting to you. But you try to get a hit every time up. I don't look at it that way."
