Brett Cecil has shown improvement at Triple-A Las Vegas, but the left-hander isn't close to returning to Toronto's starting rotation. After a brutal first start -13 hits, 10 earned runs - at Las Vegas, Cecil has reeled off four straight wins while posting a 3.86 ERA. Blue Jays manager John Farrell said Cecil's velocity reached 91, but was typically in the high 80s. His command was unexceptional as well. "The overall velocity, the execution of pitches was average, I would say. I think he had a tendency to pitch up in the [strike] zone a little bit more than he had in his previous three starts, so it's still a work in progress," Farrell said.
