Red Sox right-hander Josh Beckett isn't injured, but the team has decided to push back his next start until Wednesday. Beckett threw 125 pitches twelve days ago against the Angels, one shy of his career high, and he's still feeling the effects. Boston manager Terry Francona indicated the pitcher can benefit from additional rest. In five starts, Beckett has averaged 105 pitches. "We leaned on Beckett pretty hard there a couple games," Francona said. "We don't have days off coming up. Part of it — not because of the way hes pitching, because he's pitching great — (is) just we wanted to try to get everybody situated where they all feel as good about themselves as they can physically. I think just to give them that (extra) day was important."
