George Steinbrenner apologized to Joe Torre after leaving Tuesdays game early and making comments about Randy Johnson and Alex Rodriquez that were not to favorable. "He just called me to basically let me know, sure he's unhappy about the game, but there's nothing going on as far as being angry at someone," Torre said. "I didn't expect the call." Following the Yanks' 7-3 victory over the Red Sox last night, Steinbrenner also offered a brief endorsement of A-Rod's efforts - Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a solo homer. Asked if Rodriguez had shown him something, Steinbrenner replied, "Yup," before ducking into the back seat of his blue limo and being whisked away.
