Dewayne Wise opted out of his contract with the Marlins on Wednesday, a day after he was reassigned to the minor leagues. Wise, 33, has been bothered by a sprained left big toe for the last week and a half. Known for his defense, he hit .250 with a .304 on-base percentage and a pair of home runs in 52 Grapefruit League at-bats. Florida had been hopeful Wise would remain in the organization after he came to Spring Training as a non-roster invitee.
