Brewers right-hander Shaun Marcum tossed four innings against the Padres on Monday without experiencing any pain. Marcum was shut down for nearly two weeks after experiencing shoulder tightness in a start against the White Sox on March 17. He gave up three runs and four hits as a Brewers split-squad beat the Padres 5-4. Marcum will be throwing a bullpen session on Wednesday as he prepares for his first start of the regular season Saturday against the Reds in Cincinnati.
