The Brewers acquired Nyjer Morgan from the Nationals over the weekend, but Carlos Gomez remains their starting center fielder. Milwaukee general manager Doug Melvin had said last week that the team had no interest in Morgan. "Sometimes, the prices change on things," said Melvin. "Two days ago, it didn't appear we were going to do anything. We made contact with them again, and it came down to him getting a change of scenery. Maybe they felt it was the best thing to move him. "We look at it that we still need protection in case Carlos gets hurt, the way he plays. We were looking for a good player."
