If Roger Clemens has plans on pitching for the Yankees this summer, he hasn't informed the captain. "I stay in touch with him, but he hasn't said anything," Derek Jeter said of Clemens. "He really hasn't." Jeter, who shared a house with Clemens during the Anaheim portion of the World Baseball Classic, said after the tournament that it was his belief that Clemens would continue his Hall of Fame career. However, Jeter made it clear that it was only a hunch. If Clemens, 43, chooses to return, he'll be pursued by the Astros, Rangers, Red Sox and Yankees involved. Though the Astros appear to have an edge because Clemens could stay home and be permitted to come and go as he pleased, it's unknown if the Astros will be willing to spend what it takes to keep Clemens. He made $18 million last year ($3 million a month) and isn't likely to take a cut.
