Jorge Posada, who wants to remain the starting catcher of the Yankees, will have knee surgery. He's scheduled to have the surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to a baseball source. The operation isn't considered serious, but at 39 years of age it could hamper Posada's offseason preparation. There have been reports that the Yankees are prepared to start prospect Jesus Montero at catcher, while moving Posada to the role of full-time designated hitter.
