The Yankees are planning to remove Javier Vazquez from their starting rotation. With Andy Pettitte scheduled to return on Sunday against the Orioles, the Yankees plan to use Thursday's off day to skip Vazquez, according to a team source. CC Sabathia will start against the Rays on Monday. He will be followed by Ivan Nova and Phil Hughes. Then A.J. Burnett will start Friday in Baltimore and Sabathia will go again on Saturday. "It could line up that way," manager Joe Girardi said. "Like I said, I'll announce it when I have it."
